Is structural soil the same as a soil cell system?

No. A soil cell or vault system is a structural frame under the pavement filled with ordinary soil, while structural soil is an engineered rock and soil matrix that carries the load itself. Structural soil is simpler and cheaper to place; cell systems give roots more soil volume. We supply structural soil, and growing media for cell systems.

About this product

Structural soil solves an urban contradiction: pavements need compaction, roots need voids. An engineered matrix of angular stone with soil filling the gaps creates a material that compacts to pavement-grade bearing while keeping root channels open and aerated beneath.

Councils and urban-realm projects specify it under tree pits, permeable paving and shared zones. We supply to the project’s nominated blend with documentation per batch.

Soil is supplied by the cubic metre. Multiply your area by the depth (in metres) to get the volume. Tell us the area and depth on the quote form and we will work out the metres and price the delivery for you.

It is supplied loose by the cubic metre and delivered by tipper across Victoria, sized to your site access. Every load is GPS-tracked in NXT Control so you can see it from the yard to your gate.
